Tizi Talks with Tallia Oyando

· Interviews

I am not working out to get a six pack; I just want to be fit.

Dear Reader,

Welcome back to episode twelve of Tizi Talks with Tallia Oyando! She is currently a Broadcaster on Homeboyz Radio and Citizen TV. We all remember her from back in the day when she was in a girl band and later featured on the late E- Sir's song Hamunitishi; may his soul rest in eternal peace. If you follow her on social media, you must have seen how hard she has been working at the gym. Her dedication and consistency led me to feature her on this series to inspire you. We got to chatting and this is what she had to say...

TIZI: How old are you?

TO: Early 30's

TIZI: How long have you been working out?

TO: About 4 years

TIZI: What made you start?

TO: I wanted to have a healthy lifestyle and get rid of baby weight.

TIZI: Do you feel like it has made a difference in your life? If yes, how so?

TO: Yes I am more active and it helps get me through the day. I added 32 kg when I was pregnant but I lost the baby fat, added some muscle and I feel stronger!

TIZI: Can you please take me through your daily fitness routine on a weekday? And the weekend?

TO: I wake up early in the morning and head to the gym at around 8:30 for an hour or an hour and a half. I have different workout routines daily. I do weights, hit workouts, and muay thai boxing at the colosseum in adams arcade (where I work out). I prefer to work with a personal trainer because I achieve better results.

TIZI: Do you find it difficult to include your workout in your daily routine?

TO: No I don't because it has become a lifestyle.

TIZI: What keeps you motivated?

TO: I am my own motivation because its not easy going to the gym from Monday to Friday. I talk myself through it and tell myself that I want to make my body better. I am not working to get a six pack and I don't want to be super ripped; I just want to be fit.

TIZI: What can you advise people who want to start their fitness journey?

TO: You don't get the ass you want from sitting on it. Fall in love with taking care of yourself because 3 months from now you will thank yourself.
